Toddler March Newsletter

March 2015Newsletter

Birthday wishes go out to Jonathan, Danil, Taylor and Melina who turn TWO this month. Their joint birthday party will be held on Thursday March 19th.

Sad goodbyes go out to Michael who has left the centre to enjoy his new baby sister. We wish him all the best and hope to see him again soon. We welcome Maxim, who is graduating from the infant room

The Toddler team would like to thank Christina for all her hard work in our room these past few months. Christina has been a great part of our toddler team and she will be missed!!!! Christina will be doing the float position, so we take comfort in knowing she will still be in our room on a regular basis. On a happier note we welcome Amna back from her extended leave. Her first day back will be March 2nd. For those of you who don’t know Amna, she had been working at the day care since 2008, and has been mainly in the toddler room since 2010.

The toddler teachers have been writing child development observations on a regular basis. These write ups are posted on our door and then placed in a labelled white binder located near the parent bulletin board. These write ups are part of our new play based curriculum. They indicate the skills that the children are developing as they play. These write ups are made accessible to parents, so you can become involved in your child’s development and their daily day care experiences.

St. Patrick’s Day will be on Tuesday March 17th, Please dress your child in green or white. The children will be making green smoothies during morning circle.

Friendly Reminders:

  • Please ensure that your child has at least one change of labelled clothing at their cubby, including socks.
  • There is absolutely no outside food allowed in the daycare. We have children in the centre with severe allergies so please keep all food at home or in your car.

Thank you

The toddler team,

Lara RECE, Christina, Amna RECE, Diana and Rupam RECE
